Another sustainable product that we offer here at Longleaf Lumber is bamboo flooring. An alternative to traditional new wood flooring, bamboo is a renewable resource that is a very hard and dimensionally stable flooring material.

There are many different bamboo flooring companies in the market now. We chose to work with Teragren LLC, manufacturers of bamboo solid strip and wide plank flooring, stair parts, panels and veneers. We are continually impressed by their commitment to the environment, their high-quality product, their customers and to their employees in their factory in China. They have a fantastic reputation and are dedicated to their mission of environmental, social and economic responsibility.

Bamboo flooring is available both pre-finished and un-finished.  For customers wanting a pre-finished floor, there are several options: 3-5/8" solid strip flooring, 5-1/2" wide plank flooring and 7-11/16" wide floating floor.  For these three types of flooring, there are 4 different options in term of style and color: The two different styles are Flat and Vertical grain, and the two colors are Natural and Caramelized (pictures below).  Four new stains are also available in the pre-finished solid strip style with a flat grain.  Teragren now also offers a pre-finished stranded flooring option with four different colors.  For customers who prefer an un-finished floor (or site-finished as it is sometimes called) the "Signature" solid strip flooring is available.

In addition to flooring, bamboo accessories are also available in both un-finished and pre-finished material:  Teragren manufactures stair treads, risers and nosings, panels in different sizes, a threshold, and other accessories.

Bamboo flooring should be installed and maintained in a fashion similar to most premium grade hardwood flooring.
